Ok. I've got a confession. I'm not really a web designer by trade. Now before you turn away and close that browser, I want to tell you why that is all the more reason to let me help you with your business and design plans.
I, like a lot of other people in business, found myself in an IT role by accident but as soon as I was in it, I knew it was for me. I spent over 13 years in the finance industry starting off in the branches, then becoming a Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking and then finally to a major UK bank where, due to restructures I found myself in a team full of techies and engineers. I had to learn quick and luckily, I worked with some guys who were very good at their jobs and also great teachers. As a way of developing my skills, I started building my own websites in my own time and eventually left the bank to start up Tora Design & Communications.
So why and how does that make me different from any other web designer or communications man? Well, over the years I spent in banking, I was taught (most of the time self-taught) project management skills, business goal and objective setting, time management and budgeting skills. Along the way I obtained a couple of degrees, including an MBA, and started other small businesses including a language institute, a language consulting business, an online clothing retail store and a landscaping business.
I guess this is what I am trying to say. I understand businesses, both big and small, and the pressures that proprietors, managers and directors in business face. Especially small business owners. I understand these pressures are high and usually include getting a return on every valuable penny that is invested. And web design shouldn't be any different. Your web page, brand design and communications should do what they say on the tin and drive extra business for you. Otherwise why bother?
So here is what you get with me. Someone who runs his own small businesses, who understands the need to get returns and understands the need to deliver and exceed project expectations. I would expect this in my business from someone working for me and expect it for yours as well.
